Surya Karki, a Schwarzman Scholar, has worked as a public service fellow to former Nepali Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, and is the co-founder and President of the Diyalo Foundation. Currently, as the United World Schools Director to Nepal, he is constructing ten primary schools in the Sankhuwasabha district, for which he has been presented with awards from the Prince of Wales, Christian Science Monitor Magazine, and the International Youth Foundation. He is currently also serving as a member of the Education Development Committee at the Ministry of Social Development State 1, Nepal and is a Co-founder and CEO at Bloom Nepal Schools. He has a degree from the College of the Atlantic and Simon Bolivar Untied World College where he focused on Economics, Sustainable Business, and Agriculture respectively. Surya was a Daayitwa-Nepal Public Service Fellow in 2014, during which he received Nepal Leadership Academy’s “Leading Innovation” course.
